MIKE ELLIS
MScPT
OWNER & PHYSIOTHERAPIST
I have always had an interest in helping people. Over the years, I’ve worked in many different capacities with many different populations, from helping children with special needs to the elderly. My journey eventually led me to obtain a degree in psychology from the University of Alberta. In determining my ultimate career choice, I discovered that my desire to help people and my life long passion for exercise and sport mixed perfectly in the field of Physical Therapy. I went on to graduate from the University of Alberta with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy.
I have developed a passion for rehabilitative medicine and enjoy treating a variety of people of all ages and abilities. From children to the elderly, elite athletes to everyday aches and strains, I will customize a physiotherapy treatment plan for recovery from pain and improved quality of life. I have practical experience in many areas, including treating sports injuries, chronic pain, pediatrics, workplace injuries, and motor vehicle accidents. I have also completed additional training through the Advanced Orthopaedic and Manual Manipulative Physiotherapy program, Mulligan Manual Therapy Concept, and Biomedical Dry Needling.
I love the challenge of diagnosing biomechanical and musculoskeletal dysfunction. My treatment style is a combination of tailored exercise prescription, IMS, and hands on manual therapy.
Mike’s philosophy
I always give patients my undivided attention as I appreciate that they have chosen Renew Physiotherapy to seek assistance and improve their well being. I enjoy building strong therapeutic relationships with my patients to ensure that they are comfortable with their treatment plans and feel involved in every step of their recovery and rehabilitation.
