Treatment for Work-Related Injuries (WCB)

What are work related injuries?

A work related injury is any injury or illness caused or worsened by your work environment or directly associated with your job duties. It can be related to a gradual onset of a condition or a one-time accident.

Whether they’re caused by an accident or overuse, workplace injuries are a common issue.

Our livelihood often relies on our ability to do our job properly, making workplace injuries especially stressful. Renew is an authorized WCB provider and offers programs that provide workplace injury rehabilitation to help you return to work as soon and as safely as possible.

How will Renew address my injury?

Following a discussion surrounding the circumstances of your injury and a thorough physical assessment, you and your physiotherapist will develop a treatment plan that is specific to your condition, work environment and circumstances. Treatment may include exercises, manual therapy, therapeutic modalities, and work specific training similar to duties and tasks you perform at your job, all preparing you for a safe return to work.

Your return to work plan will depend on many factors related to your injuries and your particular work demands. The good news is that we are committed to helping you restore your physical function to get you back to work and feeling great.

Is my treatment covered by WCB?

WCB covers a predetermined number of physiotherapy visits. Please visit www.wcb.ab.ca/claims for information on initiating a claim through WCB or contact our Edmonton physiotherapy clinic at 780-705-8487 for more information.
